Firecrackers and Desperation
Sometimes you aren't sure when it started. Alcohol blurs the memories together and by now you're such a lush that any clear recollection rides on waves of pain, a signal that the exorbitant amount of alcohol you've guzzled down is being purged from your body, courtesy of the equally drunken Hokage. It means a mission, or something like it.
By now, you aren't even sure what it is that's been started, other than a war, but everyone knows that by now. After five (or is it six?) years of hell on earth, it would take more than a good bottle of sake and some painkillers to make you forget (unfortunately).
